Daniel In The Lion's Den

Daniel stands powerfully in hierarchical perspective while the lions submit to him (89). He is rendered very large in scale to show his spiritual superiority. The lions lick his feet like dogs to show that they see him as their master (89). The den that Daniel was supposed to suffer in for his belief in God is small at his feet and the hungry lions are made innocent. Daniel is towering over it to demonstrate how he overcame his hopeless adversity through his faith in God. He has a halo about his head that shows he is spiritually strong. At his left shoulder is an angel comforting a man that parallels how God protected Daniel and delivered him from this time of persecution.
