My favorite childhood toy was the furby. My mom and I stood outside Wal-mart for three hours before they opened on black Friday to buy this toy. When we went to the store to get it we received a voucher since we were at the beginning of the line that way when the mad rush hit when they unlocked the doors you were still able to go and trade your voucher in for the furby. I think it eliminated some of the chaos that happens on black Friday.
The furby was the first of its kind. Our family furby was white with a gray patch and tail. You could feed it, play with it, and sing it to sleep. It virtually told you when it was hungry and when it needed to take a nap. The furby would actually talk and have conversations with you. You could teach it things like vocabulary. No other toy on the market was like it. It was a toy that evolved the more attention and interaction it received.
My two brothers and I took our furby everywhere. It was the coolest toy out for kids and even some adults. I have to say my mom and dad loved to play with it too. We took it over to our friends’ houses that also had furbys and the furbys would interact with each other and play. It was a sight to see when you are 9 years old. The furby started a toy revolution. No other toy at the time was as interactive with the consumer as the furby.
